To choose the best options available, it is crucial to understand the structure of this equipment. There are three parts to the typical goalpost. First is the aptly named gooseneck post. It is the curved part that attaches to the second part, the horizontal crossbar. Lastly, the vertical left and right posts are called the uprights. We offer posts for high school and collegiate use that meet NFSHSA and NCAA specifications, respectively. The difference between the two options is the width of the uprights. High school units feature 23 feet 4 inch wide uprights while college posts are much narrower at 18 feet 6 inches. Both options will feature your choice of gooseneck thickness. The 4-½ inch outside diameter (O.D) is great for recreational use while the 5-9/16 inch O.D. version is typically used for organized, competitive play. Finally, you may choose between a galvanized, white, or yellow colored goalpost to meet your needs. Padding and flags are sold separately.
